Extensions & Alterations

Unlocking the Full Potential of Existing Buildings

Extensions & Alterations focus on adapting and expanding existing buildings to improve space, functionality, and overall spatial performance. Interventions may include rear extensions, side extensions, side-return extensions, dormers, porches, roof alterations, internal reconfiguration, and garden outbuildings, depending on site conditions and planning constraints.

Extensions can be developed as single-storey or multi-storey additions, and in some cases combined extension strategies—such as rear and side extensions together—are used to maximise usable floor area and improve spatial continuity. Internal alterations may also be introduced to optimise circulation, layout efficiency, and functional use of space.

All proposals are developed in alignment with planning policy, permitted development rights where applicable, and Building Regulations, ensuring that interventions remain context-sensitive, compliant, and buildable.
