Market Street, Chorley town centre  ·  2026  ·  Planning application submitted  ·  Ref 26/00334/FUL

THE BRIEF
Bring the upper floors of a town-centre retail building back into use as homes, while keeping active shopfronts on Market Street.

OUR APPROACH
The first floor is planned as seven apartments and the roof space as two loft homes lit by rooflights, without raising the building or extending it. At street level the ground floor is divided into three retail units, with a separate residential entrance, bin store and cycle store, so the homes have their own protected route kept apart from the shops for fire and sound.

OUTCOME
Full planning application submitted to Chorley Council (26/00334/FUL) and under consideration.

PLANEST ROLE
Architectural design, planning drawings and technical coordination, working with Mold Design Lab.

Drawings and images show design intent and are not for construction.
